Some sales books are pushed right in front of your face day in and day out. They are promoted across social media, in blogs, email and on podcasts. It’s these books that make you wonder whether there are actually any other sales books out there and well I’m pleased to say there are.
Matt Wanty, an experienced cold caller has written a cracking book on what he refers to as “The Lost Art of Cold Calling”. With social selling taking the attention of sales reps across the world there is a real fear that many sales teams have lost the skill and confidence in cold calling. Whilst it may not be the most popular sales activity it is by the most consistent in delivering a measurable result.
This book hasn’t been written to tell you that cold calling is better than any other sales activity. It hasn’t been written to try and preach how cold calling should be done. Instead it is a fantastic insight into the success achievable through calling by someone who has been there, done it and very much earned the T-Shirt.
What I really enjoyed about this book was the way it was written. It’s written in a way that’s enjoyable to read, it tells stories, gives insight and takes you on a journey full of AHA moments. As someone who has cold called for over 10 years there was plenty I took away from this book and it’s one I’m now recommending to everyone in my sales team.
